Module One | The Foundations of a Rasayana Practice & Essential Qualities of an Ayurvedic Practitioner

Ayurveda is an ancient practice that guides both practitioner and client on a journey of self-discovery and realignment. This module focuses on developing the essential skills required for an Ayurvedic practice, fostering deeper awareness and connection.

  • Gain an understanding of the foundations of a Rasayana practice, including its purpose and significance in Ayurvedic rejuvenation.

  • Explore the essential qualities required to cultivate a successful Ayurvedic practice, including self-awareness and balance.

  • Understand the role of attentive listening in Ayurvedic consultations.

  • Learn trauma-informed care principles to create a safe healing environment.

  • Explore conscious communication techniques to enhance practitioner-client relationships.

Module Two | Designing Multi-Week Rasayana Program

What exactly is a Rasayana? In Ayurveda, Rasayana refers to practices that support rasa, or life essence. This module delves into the creation of individualized Rasayana health plans, guiding participants through the process of structuring personalized rejuvenation programs.

  • Gain a deep understanding of the core principles of Rasayana therapy.

  • Learn to assess client needs and tailor multi-week rejuvenation programs.

  • Explore the integration of Rasayana principles into holistic health planning.

  • Engage in case studies and peer learning to enhance practical application.


Module Three| Applied Rasayana Practices & Therapies

This module focuses on the practical aspects of Rasayana therapy, including meal planning, herbal formulation, and hands-on bodywork techniques that enhance vitality and longevity.

  • Develop Ayurvedic meal plans that nourish both the physical and spiritual body.

  • Gain knowledge of Rasayana herbal formulations and their applications.

  • Learn to create personalized herbal blends with safety and efficacy in mind.

  • Master the art of Pada Abhyanga, a rejuvenating Ayurvedic foot massage for circulation and relaxation.

Upon Completion of This Immersion, Practitioners Will:

  • Gain expertise in Ayurvedic meal planning and herbal Rasayana formulations – learning to create customized dietary and herbal protocols that optimize health and longevity for clients.

  • Master the application of Pada Abhyanga as a rejuvenating therapy – equipping practitioners with hands-on skills to enhance relaxation, circulation, and overall vitality in their clients.

  • Learn practical strategies for integrating Rasayana practices into personal and professional wellness offerings – expanding professional opportunities and refining client-centered Ayurvedic approaches.

This retreat empowers participants with a deep and practical understanding of Rasayana, providing tools and techniques that can be seamlessly integrated into both personal practice and professional Ayurvedic offerings, helping to enhance client satisfaction and business growth.


Additional Information

This retreat is open to all Ayurvedic Health Counslers and Practitioners or students currently enrolled in Ayurvedic AHC, AP or AD programs. For those who are already certified, this retreat offers 20 hours of CE credits.

TRAVEL DETAILS

Check-in is after 2 pm on arrival day and check out is before 11 am on departure day. Arrival dinner, welcome meditation, and closing yoga and departing breakfast is included.

St. George Regional Airport is nearby with daily flights to Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City and Dallas. Las Vegas is less than a two-hour drive and affordable door-to-door shuttle service offered every hour. (St. George Shuttle or Salt Lake Express)

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR WEATHER

Situated where the Mojave Desert meets the Great Basin and the Colorado Plateau, this region boasts a distinct desert climate with clear skies, over 300 days of sunshine, mild winters, and warm summers. St. George lies at an elevation of 2,880 feet, rising to 10,000 feet in the neighboring Pine Valley Mountains. During winters, bring layered clothing, and for summers, opt for airy, lightweight fabrics. The majority of the year experiences temperate weather.

 

Meet Your Facilitators

Facilitator

Kathy Jo Staheli, AD, is a NAMA-recognized doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine, specializing in Panchakarma, the Ayurvedic science of detoxification and rejuvenation. While working as Panchakarma Technician in Santa Cruz, California, Kathy Jo pursued her Ayurvedic education at Kerala Ayurveda Academy and Bastyr University. During this time, she traveled to India for a deeper understanding of medical science, joining the world’s top Ayurvedic doctors as an intern in clinics, hospitals, and retreat centers.

Her deep passion for sharing Ayurveda, allowed her to work with Kerala Ayurveda Academy as a practitioner and as the global business development manager, bringing Ayurvedic resources to the U.S. market and her custom skincare line Purusha Botanicals was featured in the Oscars goodie bag. She was an integral part of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, for nearly 7 years, ensuring the authenticity of the practice of Ayurveda in the United States, and is now acting as the chair of the Panchakarma Committee.

With almost 20 years of practice in the Ayurvedic health industry, she offers a service with an in-depth knowledge of the Ayurvedic System of Medical Science, facilitating a balanced and healthy life for her clients.


Facilitator

Anjali Deva is an Ayurvedic practitioner and educator. Her private practice, Rooted Rasa, specializes in an integrative and trauma-informed approach to Ayurveda. Anjali founded Mādhya Way, a school for Ayurveda. Her compassion-based approach is useful in alleviating anxiety, depression, PTSD, digestive disorders, and women’s health issues with a holistic framework. Anjali has been greatly fortunate to have been introduced to Ayurveda and Yoga at a young age by her father and mentor, Arun Deva. Her clinical experience began at Hope Integrative Psychiatry overseen by Omid Naim, MD. Her familial lineage is rich with the desire to preserve and maintain these healing arts.  Driven by her aspiration to better understand the connection between food and mood, she has trained with Kerala Ayurveda Academy, Loyola Marymount’s Yoga and the Healing Sciences Program, and with various teachers both in the United States and India. Her strong passion for digestion and mental health provides others with a holistic approach to finding their inner harmony and resilience for healing. Ayurvedic Chef

Sarah Syson is currently interning at Purusha to become an Ayurvedic chef. Her passion for yoga inspired her to find a more holistic approach to finding a balanced healthy life. She is dedicated to the path of learning and is completing her Ayurvedic studies as an Ayurvedic Health Counsler with Kerala Ayurveda, and she plans to complete her yoga teacher training, and continue her education in Ayurveda. Her love for nature inspires her each day to connect with the elements and explore holistic practices for the mind, body, and spirit. She enjoys nourishing our Panchakarma and workshop guests by preparing balanced Ayurvedic meals that are filled with love and prana.
